Pinellas County occupies a peninsula between Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico and is the most densely populated county in Florida. Clearwater is the county seat and St. Petersburg the largest city, while a chain of barrier-island beach towns lines the Gulf shore. Fort De Soto Park, Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island state parks, and the Pinellas Trail are regional landmarks. Housing includes beachfront condominiums, waterfront and canal homes, historic neighborhoods, established suburbs and townhomes.
