St. Pete Beach is a coastal city on a barrier island along the Gulf of Mexico in southern Pinellas County. It was formed in 1957 by consolidating Pass-a-Grille, Belle Vista and St. Petersburg Beach, and took its current shorter name in 1994. Its downtown centers on Corey Avenue, and the Pass-a-Grille Historic District sits at the southern end of the beach. Housing includes beach cottages, waterfront homes, canal-front properties, townhomes and condominiums.
