Just east of Athens, Winterville is a small city with a relaxed, small-town rhythm and a history tied to the railroad. Its restored train depot sits near Pittard Park, where the spring Marigold Festival brings a parade, music and a 10K race. Downtown Athens and the University of Georgia are a short drive away. Homes include historic cottages, mid-century ranches, newer construction and properties on wooded lots.
