Amelia Island is a barrier island in Nassau County with roughly 13 miles of Atlantic shoreline, home to the city of Fernandina Beach and unincorporated communities to the south. Fort Clinch State Park, Main Beach and the marsh-lined Amelia River invite days outdoors, and resorts and golf courses dot the southern end. A1A runs the island's length. Housing includes oceanfront condos, golf and resort community homes, beach cottages and historic downtown residences.
