Colbert is a small city in southern Madison County along Georgia State Route 72, about twelve miles northeast of Athens. First incorporated as the Town of Five Forks, it took the name Colbert in 1909. Its historic depot now houses City Hall, with a caboose on display nearby, and the town hosts a popular Fourth of July celebration. Homes include older houses, single-family homes and rural acreage.
