In the foothills of northeast Georgia, Banks County combines rural scenery with a busy commercial hub at Banks Crossing along I-85 and U.S. Route 441. Homer, the county seat, is home to the historic Old Banks County Courthouse, and Atlanta Dragway draws racing fans nearby. Part of the Chattahoochee National Forest lies within the county. Homes include farms and rural acreage, established single-family homes and newer subdivisions.
