Crawford is a small city in Oglethorpe County along U.S. Route 78, about three miles from Lexington and fourteen miles from Athens. It began as Lexington Depot when the railroad arrived and was renamed for statesman William H. Crawford when incorporated in 1876. A historic stone depot still stands in town. Homes include older houses, single-family homes on larger lots and rural properties with acreage.
