Northeast of Athens, Madison County offers a rural setting with easy drives into the city along GA-72, GA-98 and U.S. Route 29. Danielsville, the county seat, centers on the ornate 1901 Madison County Courthouse, and Comer, Colbert, Hull, Ila and Carlton add small-town character. Watson Mill Bridge State Park features Georgia's longest covered bridge, trails and camping. Homes range from in-town houses to farms, newer builds and wooded acreage.
