Clarke County is home to Athens and the University of Georgia, served by a unified Athens-Clarke County government. Downtown Athens offers restaurants, shops, live music venues and the Classic Center, while the North Oconee River Greenway and Firefly Trail provide space to walk and ride. Nearby Winterville adds a historic depot and its spring Marigold Festival. Homes range from historic in-town houses to condos, townhomes and suburban subdivisions.
