Along US 441 near the shores of Orange Lake, McIntosh is a tiny town in northern Marion County known for its well-preserved historic district. Oak-shaded streets, a restored railroad depot and Victorian-era architecture give the town a storybook feel, and its annual 1890s-themed festival draws visitors each fall. Gainesville and Ocala are both within easy reach. Housing includes historic homes, rural properties and homes on generous wooded lots.
