Austell is a historic railroad town on Sweetwater Creek in southwest Cobb County. Residents are close to Sweetwater Creek State Park, the Silver Comet Trail and Six Flags Over Georgia, with local events held in the downtown area along Veterans Memorial Highway. I-20 and East-West Connector provide access to Atlanta. Housing includes older homes near downtown, established neighborhoods and newer single-family subdivisions.
