Hutchinson Island South is an unincorporated community in St. Lucie County on the barrier island south of the Fort Pierce Inlet, between the Atlantic and the Indian River Lagoon. State Road A1A runs its length past county beach parks and dune crossovers, and the lagoon side offers fishing and paddling. Fort Pierce and Jensen Beach are reached by causeways at either end. Homes are mostly oceanfront and riverfront condominiums, with some single-family homes.
