Okeechobee is the county seat of Okeechobee County, near the north shore of Lake Okeechobee. Flagler Park runs through downtown along Park Street, and the town's cattle-ranching heritage shows in its rodeos and livestock market. The Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail and nearby marinas open the lake to fishing and boating. US 441, US 98 and SR 70 meet here. Homes include in-town houses, canal-front properties and rural acreage.
