The Martin County portion of Hutchinson Island is an unincorporated barrier island between the Atlantic and the Indian River Lagoon, east of Stuart and Jensen Beach. Stuart Beach, Jensen Beach Park and Bathtub Beach, sheltered by a natural reef, line the shore, while the Elliott Museum and Gilbert's Bar House of Refuge share the island's history. A four-story height limit keeps buildings low. Homes include oceanfront condos, townhomes and single-family homes.
